Level of Faith

Here are 4 steps to get yourself to a new place in your faith

1.  NEW FAITH  (a new measure/expansion of faith)

a.  Faith in God  Your faith must be in God, not in man.  Man will always

            fail you, but God will never fail you.  So many of us put our faith in

            the world, for example, we put our faith in Weight Watchers or

            Atkins,or  we put our faith in people, for example, maybe you have

            your faith in Billy Blanks to get this weight off, but even Billy tells us

    that He is a tool for God and our faith must be in God.  God uses Billy

            to help us get where we need to be.   With man, it is impossible, but with

            God, all things are possible.

b.  Faith in God in You  Remember when Peter attempted to walk on

            water?  He certainly  had faith that Jesus could do it so he had Faith in

            God, but did Peter have faith in himself?  We must have faith in God in

            us in order to achieve our goals, it is where our confidence comes in. 

            Now confidence in self = arrogance, so you want to have confidence in

    God in you.

2. NEW STRATEGY  If you are not happy with your current results, then

            things need to change, but first, you must be willing to change.  You

            are going to have to break out of the mold and do things your flesh

            probably isn't going to enjoy or like.  But your body is NOT in charge

            and you are and you can make your body like it with training.

3. NEW ATTITUDE  This is a tough one.   Say  you are talking to two people

    and giving them the same message.  They are both going to interpret

    what you say differently because what you say goes through a filter that

    is based on their past experiences.  We have to renew our minds

           completely and get rid of those filters from the past that are distorting

           our mind and attitude.  Ephesians 4:22-23 says . "That you put off ,

           concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt

           according to deceitful lusts,  and be renewed in the spirit of your mind."

4. NEW REVELATION   Finally, it is so important to see and hear God.  So

          many times we "hear" God from other sources, from people, from

          preachers, maybe you heard God from this website, but there is nothing

          more supernatural than to hear from God directly and not through

          anyone or anything else.  This is how it started for me.  I have heard God

          vocally speak to me 3 times in my life and the last time, He told me that

          the reason my life was not as blessed as it could be because I had no

          self-control and He told me that it was affecting my children.  Wow.  I

          was weak for a few days after that encounter, but to hear it from God

          Himself, you BET I got motivated to get it together!  So ask God to speak

  to you about this, He will, just have faith He will. 

Remember your ultimate goal in this journey.  Phillipians 3:13-14 says

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended (this means that we know we are not perfect) ; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,  I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
