I did have a point where I was up and down about 3lbs every other day and tried drinking extra water and cutting off my eating even earlier at night, but nothing helped.
Then I remembered how important fiber is in your diet and how I had not been eating much of it due to cutting out bread quite a bit. I realized I had only been going....um...#2....*blush* once a day and it wasn't that much. The last time this happened, I had taken a product called Colon Clenz and it took care of that! I wasn't losing weight at the time so I didn't think about how it effected my weight. So I bought some more, different brand called CleanseMORE which has worked great as a daily supplement and suddenly I was going 3+ times a day and wow, what do you know, lost 4lbs in one day!
I did some research and found that some people carry as much as 40lbs of *poop* in their body! *gulp* How horrible to think of all those toxins staying in your body not only making you sick, but putting extra weight on your body! Apparently, a good bowel tract should be going 3 times a day, so if you are going less, it is time to increase that fiber in the diet and/or trying these types of supplements that I suggested. There are many types out there and any health food store employee should be able to help you pick the right one for you. It is a great way to get healthy and knock some weight off! Colon cleanses are herbal supplements so always check with your doctor before taking any natural product, especially if you are pregnant, nursing or take other medication.
JUNE 2005
I hope this email finds everyone doing well on their weight loss journey! As always, I love to hear about your stories, good or bad, because each of you are very important to me and I want to be here no matter what is going on. Remember, this is the weight loss winners loop, not the losers and nobody out there is a failure. We may have our ups and downs, but we are victorious and I pray victory over each of you each day.
I am still at a standstill, but honestly, I haven't worked as hard as I could to get these last 9lbs off. What is beautiful though is how easily I have been able to maintain my weight. That is a gift in itself because losing it is one thing, keeping it off is another! Changing your eating habits and training yourself to watch those calories makes for a lifetime of keeping that w
Diet Soda: Is it good for weight loss?
I think one of the lies some of us believe is that if we drink diet soda, it frees us up enough calories to eat more. Although low in calories, have you checked the sodium content? Sodium puts the pounds on me quicker than the fat and calories do! Also, diet sodas make you feel thirsty and want to drink more. One time I tried the sugar busters diet and lost 30lbs in 3 months. I was hooked on aspartame to get me through sugar withdrawal. Well, I was thin, but wow, I had the WORST headaches ever and would get dizzy a lot. Ends up, I am allergic to aspartame and so are many other people who do not realize it. If you crave that fizzy soda, try drinking seltzer with lime or lemon and a little bit of fruit juice. Or have you seen the Lemon Water by Dasani?
It is naturally flavored with Splenda and tastes yummy! A much better alternative to diet or any kind of soda.
Summer Exercise
Now that summer is here, exercising is becoming so much more fun! I still use TaeBo as my main source of exercise, but I also love to go for a jog or just take my kids on a walk or hike. Jumping on the trampoline or just running around the yard playing tag. Exercise doesn't have to be done alone and a certain way. The other day, we pumped up the music and I danced so hard it got my heart rate up better than anything else I have done! We don't have to view exercise as this dreaded thing we must schedule into our day everyday. It should become a natural part of our lives that is fun and fulfilling. If you are struggling with exercising each day, find new and fun ways to do it and get your family involved. My teenager daughter has lost 2 inches off her waist since shadowing me the past few days. What a great example it is to your family to get them on the same track and what accountability! Try committing to just 5 minutes a day and then slowly increase it. A goal is a goal, no matter how big or small and achieving small goals leads to bigger ones.
Have you ever noticed that everything in life has a side effect? If you take a drug, it usually has a side effect. If you eat fattening and sugary foods, it has a side effect, a big one on your tush and thighs! If you don't make healthy choices, the side effect is being sick and miserable. If you choose to be selfish and negative, the side effect is misery and unhappiness.
BUT, if you choose to eat healthy food (an occasionally enjoy a small amount of the not so good ones!) and maintain a reasonable weight with consistent exercise, your side effect will be that you feel good, look good, are healthy and live a long life. If you choose to start your day with joy, the side effect will be that it ends with joy.
MAKE CHOICES THAT GIVE YOU GOOD SIDE EFFECTS! :o) Choose to honor others, love God and see God in everything and you will achieve total and true happiness!
